PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino gave a Kylian Mbappé fitness update, but would not confirm if Gianluigi Donnarumma or Keylor Navas will start in the Champions League against Real Madrid.
The first leg of the Round of 16 ended 1-0 at Parc des Princes thanks to a stoppage-time Mbappé goal.
There are doubts as to whether the France international can play tomorrow after a knock to the ankle in training, but he was seen this evening working with his teammates.
“He had pain straight away, but was walking normally after a couple of hours. We hope tomorrow he can train and play without problems,” said Pochettino in a press conference.
“The best way to defend the first leg result is playing to win the second. That’s the approach we took in Paris and must repeat it in Madrid.”
Donnarumma was chosen for the first leg, but practically didn’t have a single save to make against Real Madrid.
All season the Italian has moved from the sticks to the bench and back again in a constant rotation with Navas, so naturally the coach was asked who will take the gloves tomorrow?
“Tomorrow we will play with a goalkeeper,” was Pochettino’s response.
“I am showing patience with the media, because I’ve had to explain the same thing for the last eight months. They are both excellent goalkeepers, that is what the club wanted.
“I will make a decision tomorrow and one of them will be disappointed, but we are happy with the way we are dealing with the situation so far.”
