Kalidou Koulibaly has just returned to Napoli after the Africa Cup of Nations, but Luciano Spalletti will start him against Inter in Saturday’s Serie A showdown.

Koulibaly captained Senegal to AFCON glory and returned to Napoli this morning.

The 30-year-old will train with the team tomorrow and according to multiple reports in Italy, Luciano Spalletti will start him against Inter on Saturday.

It will be a crucial match for the Scudetto race as the Partenopei are just one point off the Nerazzurri on top of the table, although Simone Inzaghi’s men have a game in hand.

Koulibaly has missed 11 games at a club level this season, with Napoli picking up six victories, two draws and three defeats without the Senegal international.

The Serie A giants have lost just three games out of 19 this season with Kouliably on the pitch, including the reverse fixture with Inter at San Siro in November.

  1. I’m sure Koulibaly is happy to be back and wants to shoot for the scudetto as much as anyone on the team. Having a champion on our side helps to uplift the entire team.
