Alessandro Florenzi insists Italy ‘have more left in the barrel’ ahead of the UEFA EURO 2020 quarter-final with Belgium. ‘We’ve got to dig deep and give our all.’

“I have contrasting feelings, as I wanted to be here, but am not at 100 per cent, so that’s only right,” Florenzi told Sky Sport Italia.

He is not even on the bench due to injury, as Giovanni Di Lorenzo again starts on the right side of defence.

It’s reported that of the 15,000 people in the Allianz Arena, approximately 10,000 are Italian.

“We want to make the Italians happy, including those here tonight, and hope it’ll be another fantastic night,” continued the right-back.

“We feel all the affection that the Italians have given us over the last two years. We did our part too, and the fans saw in us the patriotism, unity and passion which got us here and we hope can continue too.”

Italy needed extra time to beat Austria 2-1 in the Round of 16 and face a Belgium side that won all their games in the tournament so far.

“There were sacrifices and hard work against Austria too, but we have more left in the barrel. We’ve got to dig deep and give our all in this game and hopefully the next ones too.”
