Sassuolo have approached teenage Sporting KC attacking midfielder Gianluca Busio, claim Sky Sport Italia, after his links with Fiorentina and Parma.

He just turned 19 and is a product of the Sporting Kansas City youth academy who can play in a variety of midfield roles, even as a False 9 at times.

After two goals and one assist in 10 MLS games, he caught the eye of Serie A club Sassuolo.

As the name would suggest, Busio has Italian citizenship as well as American, so would be not take up a valuable non-EU player spot in the squad.

It’s reported that the Neroverdi are showing interest, but so far have not made a formal offer.

Sassuolo are by no means the only ones, because ESPN and MLSSoccer.com already noted Sporting CP were tracking him, along with clubs in France and Belgium.

The asking price is expected to be in the region of €5m plus bonuses and a percentage of a sell-on fee.

There were already reports in April from ESPN that Fiorentina and Parma had offers rejected.
