Stanislav Lobotka could be given a new lease of life at Napoli after the arrival of coach Luciano Spalletti.

The 26-year-old midfielder had been ready to leave the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, having failed to make any real impact since his €21m move from Celta Vigo in January 2020.

He played only 527 minutes of competitive football for the club this season, spread out over 23 games.

According to the Corriere del Mezzogiorno newspaper, Lobotka was going to be sold this summer, but Spalletti had already wanted to sign him when in charge of Inter.

The contract runs to June 2024, so it would certainly benefit Napoli to get more out of the signing.
