Hellas Verona President Maurizio Setti gave an honorary jersey to a pizza delivery rider who was slashed in the face when trying to defend a teenage girl from attack.
The 21-year-old man, Michele Dal Forno, had just made a pizza delivery when he saw a 16-year-old girl trying to get away from two teenage boys.
When he intervened to help her, the attacker slashed him in the face with a knife, leaving a cut that required over 60 stitches and sliced off part of his nose.

Dal Forno has become a local hero, given the medal of freedom for the city of Verona and circa €70,000 was raised on social networking sites to help fund medical costs and his studies.
Today, he also received a special edition personalised Hellas Verona jersey from President Setti.
“I certainly don’t feel like a hero, but I do know that I’d do it again,” said Dal Forno.
“If someone vulnerable needs help, it is right to intervene.”
Questa volta la consegna la facciamo noi, direttamente per mano del nostro Presidente, Maurizio #Setti
