Both Juventus and Napoli appealed for penalty kicks in the first half at the Allianz Stadium, with the Old Lady’s directors shouting at the referee Maurizio Mariani.
Juventus were 1-0 up when Hirving Lozano tackled Federico Chiesa inside the Bianconeri’s box, but the contact occurred only after he had passed the ball and was practically off the field.
The Old Lady’s Pavel Nedved and Fabio Paratici protested loudly, urging the referee to have a VAR check: “It’s a clear penalty, Mariani!” Paratici said.

Napoli had penalty appeals rejected for an Alex Sandro trip on Zielinski. Again, the referee and VAR waved play on despite the protests from Napoli players and reserves.
Zielinski was visibly upset when he left the pitch at half time, shaking his head.
Arbitraggio e #var di #JuveNapoli semplicemente disastrosi. Inutile avere le immagini così. Inutile pic.twitter.com/CqEbCK3nA3
