The game was supposed to kick off at 2pm GMT but the referee Federico La Penna decided to postpone the match after three different pitch inspections.

There were huge puddles all over the pitch of the Dacia Arena and after 50 minutes La Penna decided with the two captains to postpone the game to a later date.

Bad weather hit Italy over the weekend. Roma’s home clash against Sassuolo is also being played under heavy rain while Crotone-Napoli, that should kick-off at 5pm GMT may not be played, according to Sky Sport.

There are huge puddles also on the pitch the Ezio Scida and a decision will be taken in the coming hours. Heavy gusts of wind are also a matter of concern ahead of the kick-off.

Sky Sport have then given an update from Crotone saying that the game should go ahead.
