Roma legend Bruno Conti paid tribute to Diego Armando Maradona in front of the mural in the Quartieri Spagnoli ahead of this evening’s Napoli-Roma.
Conti and Maradona were close friends and played one against each other in Serie A back in the ‘80s.
Maradona died on Wednesday, aged 60, following a cardiac arrest.
Conti was Roma’s interim coach in 2005 when the Giallorossi played a Coppa Italia final against Inter.

During the pre-match press conference he suddenly presented to media a ‘young, promising footballer’ who turned out being Maradona himself.

Conti paid tribute to his old friend today and was visibly moved as he stared at the mural of the legendary number 10.
Football Italia visited the venue on Thursday , the day after Maradona’s death.
