“There has been a great deal said about me recently, all of it false,” wrote Pezzella on Instagram.
“It was pointless denying every single story as it came out, but I think the time has now come to put an end to many lies. Director (Daniele Pradè) was very clear on what happened and said I never asked to leave.
“Anyone who doubts my commitment because of my absence during the last few games doesn’t know me at all and didn’t pay any attention to the injury that has prevented me from playing the first three games of the season or going on international duty.
“My mind is focused on wearing this jersey as soon as possible.”
