Genoa boss Davide Nicola says it was important to leave Bergamo with a point, saying that "It's a pleasure to watch them play football."

The Rossoblu earned an impressive draw against La Dea away from home, and Nicola says the fundamental thing was to return to Genoa with at least a point.

“We drew against a great team and a great coach. Atalanta’s idea of playing football is very clear,” said Nicola in his post-game press conference.

“It’s a pleasure to see them play all the time. We know the difficulties and the potential of this team, you can also win or lose these games.

“When you come here to play you have to be aware of what you want to do. I saw a team that started to dribble confidently; it is true that meeting them at home is never easy. The fundamental thing was the ability to take something away from the game.”

Nicola was asked which team worries him the most in the race for survival.

“When you focus on your skills you don’t have to worry about the path of others. I don’t want to spend unnecessary energy.

“I have seen the team work with a different intensity, we can’t help but grow as a team.”

Genoa signed Iago Falque from Torino this week, so what will the winger bring to Nicola’s side?

“He is a quality player, he can make something happen out of nothing at any time in the game.

“He comes from only training with Torino for three weeks after a long absence. Falque is a very aware person. He will allow us to speed up our play. We need to play decisively, and not to take risks.”

Domenico Criscito recently rejected a move to Fiorentina, and Nicola is happy about the situation.

“I talked to Criscito and he knows very well what I think of him.”
