Empoli Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli has warned his side that only a win will do against SPAL on Saturday.
Empoli go into their relegation encounter two points adrift of Serie A safety, and Andreazzoli was under no illusions as to the importance of their task at hand.
“The obligation to win is always there for everyone, including us,” he said at a Press conference.
“The points at this part of the season have a higher value, but the will to overcome our opponents is always there.
“We will do our best and we will get what we deserve. I don’t know what SPAL will do, my expectations on the game are based solely on what we will do. I don’t like to speculate.”
The former Roma assistant was then asked about top goalscorer Francesco Caputo after he made an appeal for fans to get behind the team and help them take the three points.
“His was an appeal to the city. It is only right that everyone feels like they are involved.
“We will need the fans just like we needed them against Napoli. They are very important to us.
“When you are lacking that little bit of extra energy, they can give you a boost. Our players know this, and it helps us.
“I know our schedule, but I avoid looking at it. I want to stay focused on each game as it comes.”
