Roberto D’Aversa believes Parma are being “underestimated” after their surprise 1-0 win allowed them to catch Fiorentina in the table.
The victory at the Stadio Franchi was sealed by Roberto Inglese, who nutmegged goalkeeper Alban Lafont.
“We did what we needed to do, considering the quality of the opponents and how strong they are on home turf, so the lads took the right approach,” the tactician told Rai Sport and Sky Sport Italia.

“We did what we needed to do, considering the quality of the opponents and how strong they are on home turf, so the lads took the right approach,” the tactician told Rai Sport and Sky Sport Italia.
“If we are to achieve our objective of staying in Serie A, then we need to learn how to suffer. If you try to play Fiorentina on the same level, you’re going to struggle for a result.
“I have players who give their best on the counter-attack, so these are the situations we try to exploit.”
Despite the insistence they are battling relegation, Parma are in joint ninth place alongside Fiorentina on 25 points.
“I do feel we are underestimated, but it’s more for my lads than me. I think they don’t get the credit they deserve for these extraordinary results. Parma earned three consecutive promotions and are now mid-table in Serie A.”
