“We’ve been improving throughout the summer and now must overcome this latest step. There are hidden dangers in this fixture, as Palermo are built to win the Serie B title this season and are to be respected.
“It doesn’t matter who we are up against, as we’ll struggle if we don’t have the right mentality. It’s our first game in front of the home fans and we can’t get that wrong.
“We want to honour the Coppa Italia and go as far as possible, as it’s no less important than Serie A.”
