SPAL President Walter Mattioli admits to being “a bit disappointed” with their goalless draw against Chievo.
The result at the Stadio Mazza last night extended their unbeaten run to eight rounds, but that includes six consecutive stalemates.
“I am a bit disappointed,” confessed Mattioli on estense.com.
“We knew that Chievo were experienced, tough and difficult to break down. Every point matters, it’s just a problem for us that Crotone were able to get a draw off Juventus.

“I think Verona and Benevento will ultimately decide SPAL’s fate. We all expected three points against Chievo, but this one point will still be a useful brick in the wall of our safety.”
It’s very tight in the relegation battle, as Benevento could go down this weekend, but the next seven sides are crammed within a nine-point radius.
Sassuolo have 34 points, Udinese 33, Cagliari 32, Chievo 31, SPAL 29, Crotone 28 and Verona 25.
