Mediaset journalist Raffaele Auriemma claims Amin Younes was advised not to join Napoli by “someone close to” Germany Coach Joachim Low.

The Ajax winger, who is a German international, was in Naples in January for a medical, and has already agreed a contract for next season.

However, the January move collapsed and Younes is now stating that he’s not sure if he’ll make the move to the Partenopei at all.

There is confusion over the legal status of the 24-year-old, as he’s not ruling out a renewal with Ajax while a lawyer who worked on the Napoli deal insists a contract has been filed already.

“The player might be mad, but he’s signed a contract with Napoli,” Auriemma explained on Radio Crc.

“I’m told that someone close to the Germany Coach, Low, advised him not to come to Napoli.

“In the contract the player has with Ajax the renewal clause can no longer be exercised, Younes cannot play 70 per cent of the games this season.

“The lad could ask Napoli to terminate [the contract] but what’s most likely is for Napoli to sell him.”
