Genoa have reportedly opened talks with Mattia Perin over a three-year extension to his contract.

The goalkeeper has suffered two serious knee injuries in recent years, but appears to be back to his best this season and made two crucial saves in Monday’s defeat to Atalanta.

According to Il Secolo XIX, Perin’s agent and the Grifone have begun discussing a new contract, with the idea being for the Italian international to extend until 2022.

According to Il Secolo XIX, Perin’s agent and the Grifone have begun discussing a new contract, with the idea being for the Italian international to extend until 2022.

That doesn’t mean he wouldn’t leave the club with a big offer, but it would offer Genoa more protection as this summer he’d have just a year on his deal, which expires in June 2019.
