It is reported that West Ham United will look to recruit Maurizio Sarri if they sack current boss Slaven Bilic.

The Hammers’ Croatian manager came under pressure following an underwhelming 2016-17 season, with three defeats in three games to start the new campaign making his position even more precarious.

With just one year remaining on his contract and a reported dispute with the West Ham hierarchy, Bilic appears to be on borrowed time at the London Stadium.

As a result, the Sunday Express claim that chairman David Sullivan has earmarked Napoli Coach Sarri as the ideal replacement for Bilic.

Sarri, who became Partenopei boss in 2015 after leaving Empoli, has two years left on his deal at the San Paolo.

It is said that West Ham would need to pay a fee of around £7.5m in order to trigger a buy out clause in the 58-year-old’s contract – something they would be prepared to do.

Over the course of his Napoli reign, Sarri has won plaudits around Italian and European football for his tactical acumen and attractive style of football.
