Fiorentina striker Mauro Zarate is on the verge of a transfer to Walter Mazzarri’s Watford.
According to the Corriere Fiorentino newspaper, the Argentine left training early yesterday to discuss terms with his agent and the Premier League club representatives.
It’s rumoured to be a permanent move rather than a loan with option, at the cost of €2.7m.
Fiorentina therefore make a small profit and save on his €1.5m per year wages.
Zarate is expected in London over the weekend or on Monday for a medical.
