There are increasing reports that Fiorentina are ready to part company with Paulo Sousa at the end of the season, with Massimo Oddo the favourite replacement.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Sousa’s recent comments about Federico Bernardeschi opened up a split within the club that cannot be healed.

He said that Bernardeschi belonged at “a more ambitious club” than the Tuscans.

This chimes with his previous statements that he was “no longer dreaming” of success the way he did in his first Stadio Artemio Franchi campaign.

Sousa is frustrated at the lack of funding for transfers and apparent willingness to sell on top talent.

The Corriere dello Sport notes they will likely remain together until the end of the season, but that the Coach will walk away.

Potential options to replace him are current Pescara boss Oddo and in a surprising twist Napoli tactician Maurizio Sarri.
