According to calciomercato.com, the player’s entourage have made it clear he’d be open to a move to San Siro in January.

Inter are thought to be offering a loan with an option to buy for €13-€15m, which could become mandatory after a certain number of appearances.

However, the Red Devils are still asking for €20-€22m for the defender, and more importantly the deal is being blocked by Jose Mourinho.

The former Nerazzurri Coach doesn’t want to leave the squad short of cover at full-back, despite having afforded limited space to the former Torino defender this term.

In addition, Antonio Valencia will be out for around six weeks with a broken arm, giving Darmian the chance to stake his claim at right-back.
