Rumours of Sabatini’s exit have been gathering pace after the 61-year-old was absent from the Olimpico for Roma’s 2-1 win over Inter at the weekend, but Corriere dello Sport has reported that the decision to leave will not be an easy one.

Nevertheless, the names listed as potential replacements have a wealth of experience between them. Braida has a history of success at Barcelona, whilst Berta – currently working at Atletico Madrid – has sourced players that saw the club go from the relegation zone to winning La Liga in just three years.

It is Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo, known as ‘Monchi’, however that is arguably the biggest name amongst them. After winning nine titles over 16 years with Sevilla, the 48-year-old has been named a ‘transfer wizard’ for his ability to source players, then sell them on for huge profits.

The club has continued to be successful under his tenure whilst selling players such as Ivan Rakitic to Barcelona for a profit of €17.5 million.
