Stevan Jovetic’s return to Fiorentina has reportedly stalled over a wage disagreement with Inter.

The Viola met with Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio earlier today, as they look to bring the Montenegrin international back on loan.

It was thought that an agreement was close, but FirenzeViola is reporting that there has been a hitch, as Fiorentina won’t pay all of Jovetic’s €3.5m wages.

The whole idea of Inter moving him on was to free up wages, so the Beneamata are not willing to subsidise the move.

This does not mean that the deal is dead, but further negotiations will have to take place in the coming days, and it’s likely the Nerazzurri will have to contribute to Jovetic’s wages to stop the transfer collapsing.
