Napoli's sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli and a representative from Inter's Mauro Icardi should meet for one final transfer pitch.

The Nerazzurri have been adamant that they would not sell their star in spite of a very substantial €70m offer by the Partenopei.

The Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Giuntoli will meet or call an intermediary from the player today. It's not specified who this may be, although it doesn't appear to be Icardi's wife and agent Wanda Nara.

The meeting will summarise Icardi's situation under the new management, as the Nerazzurri have recently changed ownership, and as of yesterday they have a new Coach too.

Giuntoli will make one last-ditch attempt at making the transfer happen, by asking the player to come out and tell the club he intends to leave, effectively twisting their arm.

The Gazzetta claims this will be the final shot at Icardi by Napoli. If it doesn't help, they will either look for a different target, or settle for going into the season with Manolo Gabbiadini and Arkadiusz Milik as their starting poachers.
