Jorginho’s agent warns “some clubs are interested” despite his client signing a contract extension with Napoli in January.

The Brazilian-born Italian international has been a key member of Maurizio Sarri’s side this season, helping the Partenopei to second in Serie A.

“I don’t know what Sarri’s intentions are,” Joao Santos said on Radio Crc, in reference to the Coach’s contract.

“It would be important to have continuity in the project though.

“Jorginho has done well, playing in a team which has done well, so we have to understand what Napoli think of his future. Unfortunately that’s modern football, you can renew and then leave two months later.

“Given the season he’s had, it’s normal that some clubs are interested in Jorginho, and I think some talk has also reached Napoli. If he were to be sold it would be to make a profit for the club.”

Having made his Azzurri debut this season, Jorginho is also aiming to go to Euro 2016.

“I haven’t had any contact with the national team. For us the important thing is to win against Frosinone, our goal is to take Napoli into the Champions League directly, and it won’t be easy.

“If it’s possible of course Jorginho would like the Euros, but Saturday’s game comes first.

“I’m sorry for the injuries to [Marco] Verratti and [Claudio] Marchisio, because they’re good players and they made a big contribution to the Italian national team.

“It’d be a great satisfaction for Jorginho to be back in the squad, but we’ll see what Conte decides.”
