“I want to entertain people,” Mertens explained to Sky.
“It’d be great if that brought the Scudetto. We just have to concentrate on ourselves, when we did that we went top.

Mertens has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season, but nine have been from the bench, is that a source of frustration?
“I always want to play, but I know it takes a squad of 20 players to win, and we’re all here to do well.
“I’ve scored a lot of goals playing from the first minute, when the Coach [Maurizio Sarri] has given me that chance I’ve done well.”
