New York City FC’s Andrea Pirlo and Lazio’s Lucas Biglia haven’t been contacted by Inter, says Coach Roberto Mancini.

The two playmakers have been linked with a January switch to San Siro but Mancio has said that the club aren’t looking for midfield reinforcements.

However, he hasn’t ruled out winter arrivals, despite warning that ‘changing faces in January isn’t simple.’

“You’ll have to ask Michael (Williamson, corporate director) about January signings,” Mancini told Corriere dello Sport.

“For now we must do our best to gain as many points as possible until 20 December, then we will evaluate if there’s someone who can help us on the market.

“Changing faces in the team in January isn’t simple: you need elements who adapt straight away and make the difference.

“Pirlo is strong, but we have never spoken with him. And we haven’t thought about a reinforcement in the middle of the park.

“I don’t believe with Biglia either. We might need players in other roles.

“Bellarabi is a good player, he plays in the Champions League with Bayer and is difficult to sign in January.

“Our scouts are very good, they work well and know all the players who will be released. We’ll see what we can do.

“Dybala is great and has a promising future because he’s technical and fast. He was our primary objective in the summer.

“We also thought about Diego Perotti because he’s very good, but he wasn’t easy to sign.

“It’s not a problem for me having a foreign President. In England you never see the Presidents, the owners of City, Sheik Mansour, I saw him two or three times in four years.

“Thohir comes to Italy often and we speak on the telephone once or twice a week.”
