Nemanja Vidic’s agent insists his client will return to action in three months, rather than the six months mooted.

The Serbian defender had an operation to correct a herniated slipped disc this morning, with the club declaring it to be a success.

When it was revealed yesterday that the centre-back was going under the knife it was thought he could be out of action for six months, but the player’s agent is sure he’ll be back sooner.

“Nemanja’s surgery was a complete success,” Silvano Martina told Calciomercato.

“Nemanja’s surgery was a complete success,” Silvano Martina told Calciomercato.

“The doctors were very pleased with the outcome of the operation. He’ll be back on the pitch in three to five months.“I’m not a doctor, but I think we could see him back on the field within 90 days, and not later as I’ve been reading recently.

“In addition, this operation has also resolved some problems that he’s had some time, so we’re happy.”

The former Manchester United man was believed to be up for transfer before the operation, but Martina insists that Vidic happy to stay at San Siro.

“He’ll definitely stay at Inter. He’s very motivated and he wants to do well.”
