His transfer is sponsored by Chile teammate Alexis Sanchez, who believes he can finally shine with the Gunners.

“Every year, at this time, everyone asks about Vargas,” agent Cristian Ogalde told Radio Kiss Kiss today.

“He’s scored a lot of goals with the national team, he’s the top scorer in the Copa America, I imagine there will soon be a lot of clubs interested in getting someone who provides that level of performance.

“Will he get a chance with Maurizio Sarri? I don’t know, it’s up to Napoli. It’s a decision for the club. Edu and I have not received any phone calls from the leadership of the club.

“Vargas is a Napoli player, and he wants to be play. He wants to be happy, and to be given the space that he and his level of performance deserve.

“That said, it’s too early to say where he’ll play next season. Everything depends on the conversation we’ll have with Napoli.

“We’ve always respected the will of the Neapolitan club.”
