Coach Giampiero Ventura thinks ‘nothing is ruled out’ if Torino play ‘like they know’ in the Europa League clash against Zenit St Petersburg.

The Granata may be the least touted of the five Italian teams left in the competition as they confront the Russian 'Anti-aircraft Gunners', and Ventura is not oblivious to the risks.

“This is going to be more difficult than the game against Athletic [Club],” he said in today's Press conference.

The Granata may be the least touted of the five Italian teams left in the competition as they confront the Russian 'Anti-aircraft Gunners', and Ventura is not oblivious to the risks.

“This is going to be more difficult than the game against Athletic [Club],” he said in today's Press conference.

“We're up against a team who are dominating their domestic league, so it's going to be a real test in terms of our personality and our approach.

“If we play the way that Toro plays, then nothing is ruled out.

“It will certainly be a worthy experience to go up against one of the favourites for the trophy.

“We didn't train here but in Italy, though I don't think that matters. The main thing is that we trained well and we did it on our own field.

“I wanted to ask [former Zenit Coach Luciano] Spalletti for a few tips, but I found out he was abroad for some time off and I preferred not to bother him.

“[Coach Andrés] Villas-Boas is young, but he's on an important bench like that of Zenit. That can't be an accident.”

In closing, the 67-year-old singled out full-back Matteo Darmian, who joined him for the Press conference, as one of the players most eager to play the game.

“After four years with us he has become a protagonist. He has no fear ahead of tomorrow's game.

“On the contrary, he is excited at the idea of playing against Zenit. This is an important marker of maturity.”
