In spite of reports emerging last week that Fiorentina and Neto had found an agreement for the player's renewal, rumours have since surfaced that the ‘keeper is taking the winter period to consider the proposal, whilst still holding doubts beyond financial terms tabled.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, it is a situation that has left the club from Florence considering alternative measures in the market.

Apparently, La Viola are keeping tabs on Uruguayan goalkeeper Salvador Ichazo, presently under contract with Danubio FC, should they need a replacement before the goal in January.

The player is just short of 23 and has an Italian passport. Fiorentina are seen as likely to pursue a loan in January with an option to buy in the summer.

Sampdoria are also reported as keeping Ichazo under observation, in case Sergio Romero should leave the club.
