Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has told his players he ‘expects great things’, and warned that ‘nobody gets allowances’.

Tension has returned to the Napoli camp following the 2-0 defeat to Milan and led to returned suggestions that Coach Rafa Benitez is on his way out.

In an effort to re-establish order, De Laurentiis gathered his players at Villa D'Angelo and offered some strong words aimed at the players, as reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“To this point you have been disunited inside the pitch, and united only outside of it,” the Napoli President remonstrated.

“Now you are under my lens. I will be making no allowances for anybody.

“I'm expecting great things from you, you must prove that you are champions.

“So far we've had a few laughs, but now your concentration levels must always be at their highest.

“Between you and me there is a pact of honour.”

Napoli face Parma tomorrow evening at the Stadio San Paolo before heading out to Doha for the Italian Supercup against Juventus.
