The Viola striker has been out all season as he recovers from surgery to fix the latest in a long line of knee injuries, and spoke to journalists at a Press conference to launch his new book ‘A modo mio’ – ‘My Way’.
“Talking about my injuries was the hardest part of writing the book,” the American-born Italian international admitted.
“I’m improving day-by-day, but it takes time and patience. At home I do the things you’d normally do in the gym.
“It bothered me when people said I should stop after this latest lay-off.
“I don’t know when I’ll be back, but I know what I can offer.
“What I can say is that when I do come back, I’ll be even stronger than before.”
An excerpt of Rossi’s book published in the Gazzetta dello Sport today spoke of the forward’s joy at scoring a hat-trick against Juventus last year, but the former Manchester United man will not be involved when the teams meet on Friday.
“I’ll have to watch from the stands. Last year was a beautiful moment, not just for me but for and my teammates but all Fiorentina fans.
“I hope we can relieve the same emotions on Friday.
“Our objectives are to improve and to get as high up the table as possible. We can improve, and we’re doing so.”
