The Argentinian has been heavily linked with a return to the club where he spent five seasons from 2007 to 2012, winning the Coppa Italia in 2012, with the player’s agent saying the Partenopei were ‘still in his heart’.

In addition, Napoli Coach Rafa Benitez praised the player, calling him a ‘fantastic guy’ and saying that Lavezzi was still very much loved in Naples.

Now Tuttosport is reporting that with Lavezzi unhappy on the bench at Paris Saint-Germain, Aurelio De Laurentiis will meet with the French club to discuss a possible deal.

Napoli would offer to take the attacker on loan until the end of the season, with the option of purchasing the player outright at the end of that period, according to the newspaper.

Benitez’s side are short of options in attack, with Lorenzo Insigne out for the season with a cruciate ligament injury and Michu sidelined for two months following ankle surgery.
