Mateo Kovacic said his contract extension with Inter is “a long way away” as he prepares to face Saint-Etienne.
“My fitness levels are a slight problem, because there are so many injuries and I have to play all the time,” said the Croatian midfielder in a Press conference.
“The Coach wanted to give me a rest, but he can’t. I am a little tired, but that is the situation at the moment.”

Kovacic has been perhaps Inter’s best player this season and was asked about a contract extension on his current deal until June 2017.
“It’s still early to talk about that, as I have a contract for a few years yet. The renewal is a long way away, then we’ll talk it over and see.”
