Former defender Moreno Ferrario suggests that Napoli are currently suffering from a lack of leadership in the locker room.

Speaking to Radio Marte, Ferrario said that spirits are low in the camp and that key players like Gonzalo Higuain, Jose Callejon and Marek Hamsik need to be more vocal.

“Everything started from the Champions League preliminary round, no-one seems to be able to get over that result,” Ferrario said.

“I think something in the locker room isn’t right, whilst without naming names, already from the beginning of pre-season one player wasn’t happy for something while another wanted to leave but in the end remained but now they do not play like they were last year.

“Reina was the leader of this group, but I can’t understand how other players like Higuain, Callejon and especially Hamsik, who's been here a lifetime, aren’t able to have an influence on their teammates.”
