Milan have been linked with Lestienne for several weeks and had reportedly been close to securing him on loan if his contract was bought up by an investment fund in Qatar.

However, Sky Sport Italia now claim Genoa are on the verge of taking Lestienne on loan from Club Brugge with an option to buy for €20m.

That’s not the end of the intrigue, as Inter are thought to be behind this move and agreed Genoa will pass him on to them if they buy him out next summer.

The 22-year-old is a Belgium Under-21 international who attacks down the left flank.
