However, on from having seen those links die down of late, with Barca reported to have turned attention to Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, Higuain has backed away from speculation.
“I don’t really know what will happen,” Higuain is quoted as telling El Espectador after Argentina’s 1-0 quarter-final win over Belgium at the weekend, in which he scored the only goal.
“No-one has spoken to me about Barca and the same is true for my agent.
“Right now I am a Napoli player and my mind is currently on doing well with the national team.
“For now I am thinking only about winning the World Cup, then we will see.”
