Romulo’s agent complained Fiorentina are “not being very clear” on his future with Hellas Verona.
The Brazilian winger joined Verona on loan last summer and the club has an option to buy him out, reportedly for just €3m.
He impressed over the campaign so much that he earned a place in Italy’s 30-man provisional World Cup squad.
“I haven’t spoken to Fiorentina and have to say they are not being very clear,” agent Alex Firmino told Violanews.
“In my view we shouldn’t have dragged this situation on until the end of May. It should’ve been clarified earlier.
“I have only spoken to Verona, with director Sean Sogliano and he confirmed their desire to buy Romulo outright.
“I believe and hope that there will be some news over the next week, as we already have other meetings with Verona planned and Fiorentina will have to make their voices heard.”
