Inter’s Jonathan says he and his teammates are 100 per cent behind Nerazzurri Coach Walter Mazzarri.
The San Siro side were disappointing in their 1-0 derby defeat to Milan but the Brazilian is convinced the club have the right tactician to take them forward.
“We should definitely continue with Mazzarri next year,” Jonathan told Sky Sport 24. “I am 100 per cent sure we should carry on with him.
“Clearly the critics at the moment are putting him under pressure and it has even been written that we players are not behind him.
“That is not true, we want to move forward with the current boss. He talks to everyone and we all talk to him all the time.
“He is a Coach who gives confidence to his players, he is prepared and he always wants to win. He is angry when we don’t win.
“A great team like Inter needs a Coach like him.
“Clearly it is not just him who is sad that we lost, we are sad too. We still have a couple more days to work and we must now think about Lazio.
“They are a difficult team who always make it difficult for Inter.
“We need to change our attitude when we are at home because the fans are there for us and they support us.
“We must therefore have more motivation and we ask them to have a little more patience if we make a mistake.
“We know that our fans are expectant because we are a big club. It is right that that is the case.
“I am sure that Inter has everything in place to do well in Europe and if we get there we will be able to compete alongside Juventus, Roma and others.”
