The 28-year-old Brazilian will face his former side this weekend, with both teams needing points in the race for Europa League qualification.
“My goodbye to Lazio? I thought about it for two weeks before accepting,” Hernanes told Brazilian outlet LanceNetper.
“I had a great relationship with the Lazio fans, but my arrival at Inter was incredible. Everyone welcomed me very well.”
The midfielder also commented on his chances of making Luis Felipe Scolari’s World Cup squad and Inter President Erick Thohir.
“The World Cup? I would prefer to wait until I get called up to the squad before thinking about the tournament. At the moment I’m just thinking about Inter.
“Thohir? He is a successful businessman and he has clear ideas. We know he wants a strong Inter and he is ready to take us back to being one of Europe’s biggest clubs.”
