Francesco Bardi’s agent has confirmed that Inter turned down bids from Cagliari and Sampdoria for the young goalkeeper.

The Italy U21 international has impressed during his loan spell at Livorno this term, but his representative has revealed that other Serie A sides wanted a more permanent transfer.

“He is only on loan from Inter,” Vincenzo Rispoli told FcInterNews. “Cagliari wanted him. He could have gone there as part of the deal that would have seen Radja Nainggolan go the other way.

“Even Sampdoria asked about signing him.

“Inter have made a major investment in Francesco though. He just wants to play well for Livorno this season and try to avoid relegation.”
