Newly-promoted Hellas Verona confirmed Andrea Mandorlini will remain as their Coach in Serie A next season.

The club earned its spot in the top flight by finishing second behind Sassuolo in the Serie B campaign.

There had been some concerns over whether Mandorlini would remain, as there were reports of links with Palermo boss Giuseppe Sannino and current Italy Under-21 Coach Devis Mangia.

This afternoon Hellas Verona announced Mandorlini will be staying on the Bentegodi bench in 2013-14.

“Mandorlini is our choice and there is no need to say anything else, as we are continuing with him and he is under contract,” said director Sean Sogliano.

“Both the President and I spoke with Mandorlini and with great calm we took this decision. The Coach will have the chance to prove he can do a good job in Serie A as well.

“We had a few aspects to clarify, as we wanted to know if he was happy to continue working with the club, while we considered him to be our first choice.”
