Andrea Ranocchia believes that the international break has come at the right time for Inter following defeat to Roma.
“There’s a break now and we can get some work done,” the Italian international, omitted from the latest Azzurri squad, told Inter Channel.
Inter got themselves back into the encounter at San Siro with an Antonio Cassano goal, but the Giallorossi came out on top with a 3-1 win.
“That’s football,” the former Genoa man noted. “We had plenty of chances to take the lead, but we didn’t know how to exploit them.
“We showed a great response after the goal, we created a lot, but we weren’t able to turn the result around.
“Then we let in three goals from three moments of uncertainty. We should have done well regardless of the Europa League game we played on Thursday.”
