Chievo Verona sporting director Giovanni Sartori wouldn’t be surprised if Marco Andreolli replaces a Juventus-bound Andrea Ranocchia at Inter.

The Chievo defender is being linked with the Old Lady of Italian football, but Sartori wouldn’t be surprised to see Ranocchia end up in Turin instead.

“You’ll have to ask Juventus if they are interested in Andreolli,” the official told TuttoJuve.com in an interview. “What is true is that they asked for him last summer, at the last minute on August 31.

“Inter have also showed an interest in him and negotiations had begun. It is my sensation that Andreolli will go to Inter if Juve sign Ranocchia.”

The Old Lady may need a new centre-back given that Leonardo Bonucci will have to face a sporting tribunal after being charged with allegedly attempting to fix matches.

The 26-year-old Andreolli started his career at Inter, but was sold to Roma as part of the deal which saw Cristian Chivu arrive at the San Siro in 2007.
