Genoa have confirmed the signing of centre-back Michele Canini from Cagliari this evening.
The 27-year-old was strongly linked with a move this summer, with Palermo and Torino said to also be interested in his services.
However, it is the Grifone who have picked up the former Italy Under-21 international, as confirmed via an official statement released on their website.
The Marassi outfit are understood to have paid €2.5m to secure the player, with Cagliari keen to cash in on him with only a year otherwise left on his contract in Sardinia.
