Arturo Vidal is on his way back to Juventus after he and four teammates were sent home from the Chilean national squad for breaking a curfew.

Vidal – along with Jean Beuasejour, Jorge Valdivia, Gonzalo Jara and Carmona – were given permission to leave Chile’s training base to attend the christening of Valdivia’s children.

However, as part of the agreement, the five men were told that they had to get back to their training base for 10pm local time. They reportedly didn’t get back until 10.45pm.

As punishment for their lateness, boss Claudio Borghi has taken the decision to throw them out of the squad and replace them with five players from the Chilean championship.

The South American side are currently preparing for their two World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Paraguay.
