Domenico Di Carlo is back on the Chievo bench. “We start from scratch and I said yes straight away.”

The tactician had already worked at the Stadio Bentegodi in 2008, then had an unsuccessful spell at relegated Sampdoria.

“We start from scratch,” said the Coach on his return Press conference.

“Sampdoria were an important experience that enriched me professionally, even playing in the Champions League.

“I gave all of myself to that job, the same way I have always done and will do for Chievo.

“When Chievo called, that torch I held for them flickered back into life. I said yes straight away. I am honoured to return and hope to bring great results to the fans.

“Chievo did very well last season and, aside from a few games, seemed solid. I want to see a more dynamic team that keeps it ‘short' and goes out to win.

“Our one and only objective for the coming season is to secure Serie A safety.”
