Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is ready to offer a raise and reinforcements, including Gokhan Inler, to keep Coach Walter Mazzarri.

The tactician has declared on several occasions that he will not make a decision on whether to stay at the club until he has discussed the matter with De Laurentiis.

A meeting is expected later today, ahead of the club's end of season dinner, although the latest reports suggest it may well be put off until tomorrow.

A meeting is expected later today, ahead of the club's end of season dinner, although the latest reports suggest it may well be put off until tomorrow.

It's claimed part of the package presented to Mazzarri will be an improved contract worth €2m per season, a raise of around €0.5m.

The real issue is how the team will be prepared for Champions League football after securing third place in Serie A.

Mazzarri is demanding at least two or three major reinforcements so that next term is not a terrible let-down compared to this amazing season.

Among those ready to come in to the Stadio San Paolo are Udinese midfielder Inler, who has already been linked with the club for several months.

Indeed, Inler raised eyebrows when he scored for Udinese in Naples and refused to celebrate.

“I think at the end of the day Mazzarri will stay, as Napoli will guarantee those two or three additions he is looking for to reinforce the squad,” said Alberto Bigon, a former Coach and the father of current Napoli director of sport Riccardo Bigon.

“My son asked me about Inler, as I knew the lad from the time I trained him in Switzerland.”
