Mircea Lucescu felt sorry for Roma after they were jeered by their own fans. “I don't understand. It's difficult for them to play with this pressure.”
The Giallorossi fell to a third consecutive defeat, losing 3-2 on home turf to Shakhtar Donetsk, and were booed by the Olimpico crowd.
“Roma are going through a very tough time at the moment and I don't understand why their fans are jeering them,” said Coach Lucescu.

“It's difficult for them to play with this pressure. I saw a great Roma performance in the second half and nobody could've expected any more from them.
“We also played very well. We had five players aged 20-21 and we did what we set out to do, which is keep the pressure on Roma throughout.
“We also maintained possession, especially in the first half, and took advantage of Roma's defensive errors.
“Because this is our first competitive game of 2011, we prepared with a series of friendly matches and pushed very hard in the first half, knowing we'd run out of steam a bit towards the end.”
